Stockholm, Sweden

In a Stockholm home where music flows freely from one generation to the next, 9-year-old Lynn's room quickly tells a story as we step inside.

The palette consists of muted, considered tones that let the eye rest; yet there's a warmth here that keeps the room from feeling still. Vintage touches and nods to another era give the space a softness and a sense of depth.

Open the cupboard and there's more to Lynn than music: Stacked puzzles, games, books, figures, arts & craft and other much-loved items show his curious mind at play.

Explore this wonderful room, where things are put together in an effortless and welcoming style.

A look into Lynn's room and we are met with an antique cupboard from the 1800s and a wooden, vintage desk bought on Auctionet. These pieces add warmth and a sense of calm to the space.

Details from Lynn's desk, where he enjoys to sit and draw – with local Södermalm life happening right outside his window.

A game of mikado is placed on the desk, while a pair of storage tins are found in the window sill, flanked by a melodica and a large, red mushroom lamp.

Lots of light comes through the window by the desk and shines into the open floor space, that Lynn loves.

Lynn also had a wish for "walls blue as the sky" – and so the walls were painted as he moved in. The beautiful, subtle blue colour is called 'Bone China' and is from Little Greene.

The shelves came with the apartment, and are now used for display of LEGO sets and easy storage of books, figures and games.

A Circus Lion mobile hangs on the door knob. A Liberty tote is seen hanging on the other side of the door – see the last tote available here.

A large, red mushroom lamp sits in the window from where it shines its cosy light at night time.

An open basket by the table allows for easy storage of toys. Explore our baskets here.

Lynn's bed is placed in the other end of the room, across from the piano. A papier-mâché bear mask hangs on the wall above the bed.

The antique cupboard, bought at Hårga Antik, is full of books, puzzles, games, and some older toys that are kept for Lynn's beloved cousin, who often comes to visit.

Spotted here: 4 in a Row and a game of backgammon. Explore all our games & puzzles right here.

Large pillows, including a couple by Josef Frank from Svenskt Tenn, make the bed look soft and inviting.

A knitted whale lies on Lynn's bed. On the wall; a beautiful poster from Copenhagen Zoo and a 'June' postcard by famous Swedish author Elsa Beskow.

Lynn's father is a musician, and has taught Lynn to play the piano. They play together every evening before bedtime. Lynn also loves his guitars – especially the red electric one.

The Japanese textile above the piano is from Sakura Copenhagen.
